The following tips are general editing options that will be consistent for editing most of the parts found in the ELV ribbon toolbar.Backing can be applied to your components to cover damaged, ugly or unfinished walls, or just to make your system look more built-in. To apply backing, go to ‘Backing Panel’ in Component Properties. Check the box to turn it on and then adjust the finish. You can either apply it to the single component, the wall, or the whole room. Backing will show up as very light hatch lines in the elevation view, as seen below.
The ‘Auto Depth’ feature will automatically bump out your system to maintain the same inside depth as originally selected. You can see, in the images left and right, how it has adjusted the depth of the right hanging section and drawer bank.
The program may automatically double par when changing depths. You can turn this off by unchecking the box next to ‘Auto Partitions’ in the ELEV ribbon toolbar.
You can also select to apply backing above a set of drawers, if that is what is preferred, by checking the box beside the ‘Start Above Drawers’ option. This means it will not run backing behind your drawers, only above.
The second way to add or adjust the backing is to go into ‘Materials’ in the ribbon toolbar, and apply your finish and style settings under the ‘Backing’ option. This will change the finish in the entire room. You can select ‘Auto’ to apply the main material or select a different finish. This method will also adjust the depth of your components to accommodate.
IMPORTANT: There may be local rules based on requirements for backing with different components (base, wall mount, etc). Always check with your manager or Plan Reviewer! |
