Starting with a new project or design, go through the steps to create a new space. In the Setup Wizard, make sure to select “Paxton” from the Collection drop down.

Fill out the rest of the fields to match the space and select either Manual or Start Design to continue. Adjust the walls, etc. as needed.

Info

Selecting this collection will only allow users to design with Paxton components. The program does not allow users to mix Paxton components with other collections or Classic components.

Users can also change the “Collection” for a design that was initially set up as either a Classic (none) or other Collection by editing the Space Properties. Right click on either the design tab or the space in Job Manager and selecting Edit. Select the desired option in the Collection dropdown.

Doing this will delete all components out of the current design or space, so be sure to copy the space (by right clicking on the design tab or space in the Job Manager) first if wanting to preserve the design.

ADD & EDIT PAXTON COMPONENTS

As with Classic, users can add Paxton components either by using templates, or by creating them from scratch.

Note

The best way to start a Paxton design is by using Design Templates, which are explained in more detail HERE. <LINK> Additional details about the Paxton collection can also be found in the PDF attached at the bottom of this page.

To start from scratch, add an empty Paxton component, right click on an empty section of the Design Zone and select Add Empty Comp.

Once placed, Paxton components move, delete, array, etc. just like Classic components do.

Info

Paxton components automatically come in with backing and other Paxton-specific design details, such as thicker material and inset fronts.

Component height and width can be adjusted after placement, either by using the click and drag method, or by editing in component properties.

Note

Note that there cannot be custom widths where there are Everstyle pull-out parts.

Right click and select Properties [Component] to further edit the component. The editing options are slightly more refined compared to a Classic system.

Users can adjust component properties such as height, depth and width, but may notice options are greyed out or not available at all.

These have been refined based on material, thicknesses, finishes, hardware options, and styles that stay true to the design features that were thoughtfully selected for this curated collection.

ADD & EDIT PARTS

In general, parts are added the same way as in Classic components, using the Parts section of the Elv ribbon toolbar.

Strong visual lines are a signature of this particular collection. The ideal parts and part orientation within a Paxton component are based on the curated templates <LINK>. If adding or editing additional parts in a component, It is encouraged to keep with the overall lines and feel of this collection when possible (see attached document at bottom of page for more info).

When changing finishes or materials, using any method, users will notice that the only finishes available (main finish, board or front finish, fabric, metals) are those that are part of the Paxton collection.
