The purpose of this page is to outline the process steps of installing a modesty panel. A modesty panel services 2 key purposes: (1) It creates a blocked view of what is under a countertop; (2) It acts as a support. Prior to beginning this process, ensure the section or cabinet is built that will contain the modesty panel.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must beworn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Drill for Rafix pins on the attaching partitions or shelves.  Insert the pins.

  • Use an adjustable square to measure 3/8” up from the bottom, and mark across your center line.

  • With a 3/16” bit, drill a hole 5/8” deep on the mark just made on the face of the shelf.

  • Be careful not to make the hole larger than it should be.

  • Clean any pencil marks and screw in Rafix pins.

Ensure all cams, mending plates, L brackets, etc. are on the inside of the build and not visible from the outside.  All seams are to be tight with no gaps.

  1. Place the panel in its intended position.

  • If the panel is not the same height as the part it is connecting to, align it to be flush to the top of the panel it is connecting to.

  1. Once the modesty panel is in place, tighten the cams with a screw driver.

  2. If Applicable: Affix the L bracket to the modest modesty panel and the adjacent panel.

  • These L brackets will serve as attachment points for the countertop above the panel.

  1. If Applicable: Install the countertop and secure the modest panel to the countertop with the L brackets.

  1. Inspect the installation and complete any touch ups if necessary.

  2. If there are no more components to install, remove all stickers/labels.

  3. If there are no more components to install, complete the clean up process.

  4. If there are no more components to install, complete the Professional Installation Experience by walking through the space with the customer and deliveringthe final product.
