When adding a new component (or template), moving the cursor up/down before placement will determine the mounting type. There are various ways to change mounting type after the component is in your Design Zone.

  1. Quickly and easily change an off-the-floor component to a to-the-floor by hovering near the bottom of the component until an arrow appears – The arrow will turn green when ready to be clicked.

Click on that arrow to extend your system to the floor, and a toe kick will automatically be added.

Note that this method only works one way; You cannot use this method to switch to a wall system from a floor system.

  1. Switch back and forth between component mounting types by going into the ‘

Properties [Comp]’ menu and changing the ‘Mounting Type’ under the ‘Construction’ heading, as shown to the right. You can apply this change to multiple components if desired.

CHANGE MOUNTING TYPES FOR MULTIPLE COMPONENTS

The program offers additional ways to globally change all components within a design to either wall or floor mounted at once using the ‘Set All to Floor/Wall Mounted’ feature. This is an easy way to show a customer the difference in cost or appearance between the two options. It is recommended to first make a copy of the design so you always have the original to revert back to.

Click on the ‘Settings’ tab in either the ELV or 3D view. From the ‘Unit Mounting Type’ section of the ribbon toolbar, select ‘Set All Floor Mounted’ or ‘Set All Wall Mounted’.

Note the differences in the two images below.

Note: When switching to a wall mount, cleats may automatically be added unless you turn the feature off in component properties, under ‘Construction’ – But note that cleats are required in many situations.

When the ’Auto Update Height’ feature box is checked, it will lock the height of certain parts such as hanging poles when the kickplate is added. This ensures that the distance between the hanging pole and the floor, or the hang height, remains the same. However, this will change your top shelf height to accommodate.

When the box is left unchecked, the top shelf height does not change when you switch mounting types, and a warning symbol (below) is displayed to indicate the height under the hanging has changed.\

This is important to be aware of, as a customer may require a very specific hang height for items, which has now been compromised. Either adjust the height of the poles, or simply click on the warning to make it disappear.
