Drawers are available in multiple front heights and various face styles and finishes. Select Drawer from the Pull-Outs drop down. Move the cursor over an empty section of a component.

Before placing, scroll the mouse wheel (or use the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard) to change the drawer assembly size.

Left click to insert it into the component. The tool will remain on, and as the user clicks, the drawers will continue to stack on top of the last one. If stacking drawers too high, the user will receive a warning.

Right click to turn the tool off.

Once in place, the size of the drawer assembly can be changed using the + and – buttons that appear when hovering over them. Drawers above will automatically shift to accommodate.

Drawings move and delete like other parts.

Sticking to standard drawer widths and depths as much as possible is best for accommodating inserts, and aids in easier changes or adjustments in the future.

DRAWER PROPERTIES

The drawer Properties [Parts] is where the user can make several adjustments to one or more drawers. There are a series of pull downs which allow changes to different aspects of that drawer:

The Front menu contains drop down selections that allow you to change the type, style, finish, and face size. The style and finish will be based on the Type that you select, and are broken down by profile type (slap, 1-pc, 5-pc, etc.). You can also adjust the Overlays, which will let you select how much of the partitions is covered by the face (overlays are discussed in more detail at the end of this chapter).

The ‘Hardware’ menu will allow you to select from handle, knob, or finger pull options. Depending on what ‘Type’ you have selected, the style and finish options will vary. Consult your product guide or showroom if you are unsure of any of the specific options. Just below this is where you can add locks to your drawers.

The ‘Box’ menu contains options for the box finish, slide selection (including push to open), and any inserts that you would like to add. More on this later.

The ‘Misc’ menu contains the options for turning shelves on and off, which we will discuss in the next topic.

Note: Use the ‘Apply Properties’ at the bottom to apply those changes. You can choose to apply them to just the one drawer (just hit ‘OK’), the whole component, the whole wall, the whole room, or just select drawers. If you chose ‘Select’, you can then left click on the different drawers you want to apply the properties too. Remember, anything that you want to apply must have a checkmark in the box to the left.
