There are floor and ceiling obstructions in the pull-down menu, but they don’t behave the same way as other obstructions. You may or may not see them, depending on your database.
You still start by selecting one of these obstructions, but rather than placing them on a section of a wall, they are placed within the walls in the Plan view. They do not show in Elevation, but will show in 3D – It is important to double check views to ensure you are clearing these obstructions.
The obstructions will be represented by a blue dashed outline. They can be deleted by right clicking and selecting ‘Delete’. You can move them by hovering over them, and left clicking and holding while they are red. Just release your mouse button in the new location.
These obstructions don’t have offsets. To help properly place these obstructions, you can use the Dimension Line tool from the ribbon toolbar.
These obstructions all work the same way; They will come in at standard sizes, but the dimensions can be changed in the Properties after it has been added. You can change the length, width and thickness.
You can change the rotation if needed, and if you click the box next to ‘Label’ it will show a title (ie. Floor Vent) by the obstruction in the Plan view.
