Filler is a side treatment that can be used for aesthetic purposes, or to fill in gaps between components and walls (especially with uneven walls). They are typically required when designing with wall-to-wall backing or with a component containing doors or drawers next to a side wall. Filler is always added AFTER placing components <LINK> in the design zone.

If adding filler to most of the design, it is easiest to add it on a global scale. In the Options section of the ribbon toolbar, left click the Filler drop down tab and select Filler. This will add filler material to any space existing between a wall and a component.

Filler has a minimum and a maximum width, and it will not add it to a component if the space is outside of those parameters. This will vary by location.

If moving or resizing the component, the filler will automatically adjust to the new available space if it is still within the minimum and maximum.

Filler can be turned on or off for a single partition in the Properties [Part]. If selecting On in the Options pulldown, users must manually type in a width for the filler. Filler can also extend beyond the Design Zone, if entering a number wider than the available space. If selecting Auto in the pulldown, it will auto-fit the filler to the available space if it is within the set parameters.

If setting a specific width for the filler, you cannot auto-fit or adjust the component to fill that space – It won’t work, it will recognize the filler as taking up that space. TEST
