Both Plan and Elevation views are black and white technical drawings. The closet colors are only shown in the 3D view and snapshots/images. The plan view contains all the walls you create in a closet system, while the elevation view contains all the components created in the highlighted wall.
The Plan view will show components with pertinent information such as the width and depth of each (red) and what type of component it is. Plans will also show wall (teal) and obstruction (orange) information. The asterisks (*) below notate that these functions may need to be turned on in ClosetCadPro.
The Elevation view will contain even more information for the walls (teal), Design Zones (orange) and all your components (red) and parts (as shown).
PLAN/ELV VIEW NAVIGATION
There are ways to navigate the Plan and Elevations to make the design easier to view/draw. To move the screen in any desired direction, simply left click on an empty section of a plan or elevation view, hold, and move the cursor left, right, up, or down before releasing. This is called the PAN feature.
If you move your curser towards the upper left corner of the viewable area, just below the ribbon toolbar, four magnifying glasses will appear.
Zoom In and | The first two with the plus (+) and minus (-) inside are used to zoom closer or away from the design. Alternatively, the use the mouse wheel can be used to scroll in and out.
Zoom Extents | The third one, with the ‘X’ inside, is the Zoom Extents function. It is used to reset the default position so that your entire design is full and centered within the screen.
Zoom to Window | The last one, with the ‘W’ inside, is a tool that can be used to quickly zoom into a specific area of the design. To use, click on the icon, then left click and drag a box over the area you want to zoom into. |
Adjust the grids on either the Plan and Elevation views by changing the value in the Grid area of the ribbon toolbar in each view. They are independent of each other, so a different spacing can be chosen for each view. The spacing can be set to resemble the pads that are used during a consultation. Turn the grid off by unchecking the Enable check box.
