Component Sliding Door

This section relates to Sliding Doors. Please read first before proceeding.

Users can add create “component sliding doors or sliders”, which are essentially just sliding doors installed between partitions and shelves. Editing the doors themselves work the same way as the larger sliding doors, yet adding them to a design requires different steps.

To add sliding doors to a component, right click on the design zone in either plan or elevation view and select Properties [Design Zone].

Click the box to the right of the Sliding Doors > Enabled field to turn them on. This automatically adds doors and tracks, plus a top cap and end caps.

Sliding doors on components are constructed a little bit different than the full-sized sliding doors. They require a “shell” for the sliding doors to be constructed within. The shell is comprised of two end panels and a top cap that will support the upper track. They are visible in all views once the sliders are enabled.

The shell is intended to be built around components for solid construction.

If the user does not want the components to go wall-to-wall, make sure to change the design zone length to match the desired width. This can be done by adjusting left and/or right offsets in Properties [Design Zone].

If you see a minimum or maximum size error, the number of doors may need to be adjusted.

Add the desired components in the Elevation view. The end panels will be attached to the outer partitions and the top cap can be secured to both the end panels and to the top of the components.

If hanging clothes behind component sliders, ensure that you change the design zone depth to ensure there is enough space. The program will make the shell automatically deeper — but the design zone should be a minimum of 22-24” deep whenever hanging clothes behind component sliders.

EDIT COMPONENT SLIDERS

Component sliders can be edited in the plan or elevation view, and the steps are very similar to full-sized sliding doors. There will be the same door system vendors and profile, finish and insert options.

Right click on the overhead view of the doors below the elevation view and select Properties [Sliding Doors] or Properties [Sliding System] to edit either the individual doors or the system. These are the same properties as regular, full-sized sliding doors.

The only difference in the sliding door system properties for component sliders are the fields under the Positioning heading, where there will be the option to turn Left/Right Partition on and off. The end panels can be removed if the system is going up against a wall and the desired design is to have the doors stop against the wall.

If adding components with certain parts, users may see action item warnings/errors. This is a warning if you have pull outs or doors that will be obstructed by your sliding doors.

If you see this warning, users may have to:

  • Change the layout, or move components left or right

  • Change the depth of sliding door “shell” so it is deep enough to accommodate

  • Change the number/orientation of sliders in Properties [Sliding System]
