Installation Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Test the light functionality.

  • Connect the distribution box to an outlet and plug the light into the distribution box.

  • If the light is not functioning according to standard quality, contact the shop or warehouse to inquire about a replacement light.

  1. With all fixed shelves (including those with lighting) installed, allow leads to fall to their respective distribution box location.

 Click for more information
  • The leads should travel the shortest distance along the top or bottom fixed shelf to the nearest distribution box.

  • Refer to local building codes for accessibility requirements when placing distribution boxes and drivers as they should be hidden from eyesight but still accessible.

  • Depending on the length of space between the light and distributor, extra leads may be required.

  1. Plug the leads into one of the distributor’s slots.

  • Ensure the connection is functioning by connecting the distributor to the driver and power source.

  • Ensure you are not overloading the distributor by connecting too many light leads.

  • Follow the wattage calculations completed by plan review.

  1. Attach the switch lead to the distribution box and ensure the switch is functioning according to its abilities.

If one receiver is controlling multiple switches, you must use a switch splitter to plug in the respective switches.

  1. Attach the switch to the system in accordance with the system’s elevation.

If the customer has opted to control the lighting by their internal wall switch, test the switch to ensure it is controlling the driver's power.

  1. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all components containing LOOX5 lighting.

  2. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for all switches.

  3. Complete the set up of the Connect Mesh network, if applicable.

  4. Install all backing panels, and complete the remainder of the installation in accordance with the system’s elevation.
