Cleats are a piece of our ¾” board material with hooks mounted on a wall. There are options for double hooks, coat hooks, tie hooks, belt hooks, and broom holders.

Select one of the hooks from the ‘Cleat’ option and bring into component. Left click to place a single hook.

Before placing the part, scroll the mouse wheel to change the width of the cleat and number of hooks. Left click to place on an empty wall at your desired height and location.

There are three different areas of a cleat hook that you can edit, and the options will vary depending on what you are hovering over. You will also get a different right-click menu with each. The images below demonstrate what the options will look like when hovering over them:

Hook Board: The material that holds the hooks. Noted by adjustability nodes on outside of part.

Pitch: The invisible line that designates where the hooks will be placed on your hook board. Noted by the bright yellow highlighting.

Hook: The physical hook mounted to the board. Noted by the dashed lines forming a square around the part (hook).

Hook Board

You can resize the cleat by clicking on one of the corners (nodes for adjusting will appear) and dragging it to your desired size (right). Double click and hold to manually reposition or move the cleat.

When you right click on the hook board (when you see adjustability nodes), you will see the following options (see left).

If you delete the cleat (right click>delete) it will remove the entire cleat, pitch and hooks and all. You can also add more pitches (right click>add pitch) if you’d prefer multiple rows of hooks, or you can paste a pitch that has been copied (more information on pitch below). If you were to select ‘Delete All’ it will delete your entire Design Zone. ‘Evenly Space Pitch’ will move the location of your pitch(es) so it fits evenly within the height of the hook board (right).

The part properties on a hook board will allow you to change the cleat material (it defaults to your main material), the manually type in a new width and height, and to add or remove the dimensions around the cleat. These may get in the way when designing, but they are helpful for placement and installation.

The Offset from Wall function is used if you are placing the cleat away from the wall if you were mounting it on a back panel or obstruction for example.

Pitch

You can only move the location of the pitch, or your line of hooks, on the hook board if there is enough room, so you may need to resize your hook board (see previous topic). To move your pitch, hover over it until it turns yellow (right), then double click. Move your curser to the desired location and click once to place.

When you right click on the pitch, you will see the following options (see left).

If you delete the pitch (right click>delete) it will remove all the hooks as well. If you only have one pitch, it will delete the entire cleat at once.

You can manually add individual hooks by hovering over the pitch (right click>add hook) and left clicking to place that hook on the pitch. This will only work if you have room to add additional hooks. To evenly space your hooks along the pitch (see image on the right), select Evenly Space Hook.

You can also Copy Pitch and paste it (right click on hook board>paste pitch) if you have enough height on your hook board. This is a quick and easy way to replicate a pitch layout. Keep in mind that you may need to move the hooks to avoid them stacking to close to each other.

The pitch part properties are very simple and will offer another method for positioning your pitch on a hook board (although double clicking to move is quicker and easier).

Hooks

You can move the location of the hooks on a pitch if there is enough room, so you may need to resize your hook board (width) to accommodate. Double click and hold to move your hooks.

When you right click on a hook, you will see the options to select Part Properties or Delete. ‘Delete’ will only delete the individual hooks. If you want to delete all of them, select the sane option when right clicking on either the pitch or hook board instead.

In the hook part properties, you can edit the hook style to change what type of hook you’ve added, the finish of the hook(s), and adjust the horizontal positioning if you prefer (an alternative to double click to move).

The image to the illustrates the different cleat hook options. All the hooks are available in our standard matte aluminum or oil-rubbed bronze finishes to coordinate with other parts such as poles, baskets, and hardware.
