Layered drawers are a method of concealing more than one drawer box behind a single face.

Add the desired layout of drawers to a component. In the drawer Properties [Part], under the Front heading, change all but the bottom drawer of the orientation to Faceless <LINK>. Use the apply properties to change multiple drawers at once.

Check the Standard Product Guide (found in the CAD “Help” tab <LINK>CONFIRM!!) for common orientations and restrictions.

Upon changing these drawers, a “pinch point” warning will appear. This warning means that the user of the drawer may pinch their fingers in the top drawer when closing it because the lack of space is limited.

There are several ways to satisfy the pinch point warning in Properties [Part]:

1

Add a scoop to the front of the box. <LINK> (Scoop under Box subheading)

2

Change the slides to Push to Open/P2O (Slide under Box subheading).

3

Add more space by changing the drawer size to “Custom” and adding more height - One additional numerical value is the minimum, ex. from a 5 to 6 (Size under Assembly subheading).

4

Change the size of the drawer box to be smaller than the assembly size (Size under Box subheading).

The user can remove the shelves above or below if not wanted/needed. This feature is located in the drawer properties, under the Misc subheading - Change the Shelf Above/Below drop down from “Auto” to “Off”.

Finally, check the Extend Faceless box in the part properties of the BOTTOM drawer, under the Front subheading. This will extend that face over any faceless drawers above it.

The size of the drawer(s) can still be adjusted using the + and - after it is in place.

Layered drawers can move, delete and edit like other drawers <LINK>. The main front (on the bottom drawer) can be inset or full/half overlay.

At the moment, no locks are available for layered drawers.
