Filler is a side treatment that can be used for aesthetic purposes, or to fill in gaps between components and walls (especially with uneven walls). They are typically required when you have wall-to-wall backing or you have doors or drawers in a component next to a side wall.

If you are adding filler to most of your design, it is easiest to add it on a global scale. This is done AFTER adding your components. In the ‘Options’ section of the ribbon toolbar, left click the ‘Filler’ drop down tab and select ‘Filler’. This will add filler material to any space that you have between a wall and a component.

Note: Filler has a minimum and a maximum width, and it will not globally add it if the space is outside of those parameters. This will vary by location. The width of the filler will appear in red.

If you move or resize the component the filler will automatically adjust to the new available space, if it is still within those parameters.

You can turn filler on or off for a single partition in the par properties (left). This will force it on and allow you to manually adjust the width. If you select ‘On’ in the ‘Options’ pulldown, you must manually type in a width for your filler. It can also extend beyond your Design Zone, if you choose to enter a number wider than the available space. If you select ‘Auto’ in the pulldown, it will adjust the filler to fit in the available space, if it is within the set parameters.

Note: If you set a specific width for your filler, you cannot auto-fit or adjust the component to fill that space – It won’t work, it will recognize the filler as taking up that space.
