If wanting to add a slide-out shelf or small drawer in this open space below your countertop you will need to add a countertop there needs to be a component in place first. Office template library that you can use (empty, keyboard tray, drawer), which is the quickest and easiest method to add parts in this situation. However, it’s important to understand an alternative method if ever needed. |
Another method for adding parts in an empty component is by manipulating a component to make it “empty”. The easiest way to do this is to dynamic copy one of the existing base cabinets, as it will come in at the appropriate depth and height. It will also share partitions, eliminating to the need to many manually remove them (as you users would if you added adding an empty comp to the space), as seen in the image below. Then, delete all the parts you wish to exclude, as previously discussed, as seen in the image below and to the right.

Users will then need to remove the bottom shelf and kickplate by going to ‘Component Properties’, ‘Construction’, the Construction heading in Properties [Component] and unchecking the box to the right of ‘Bottom Shelf’ (left).
