This page will explain the process and areas to clean on the installed system and jobsite. This is one of the most important steps to take during an installation as this will be the final product delivered to the customer. Ensure you are leaving the home and space better than the way you found it.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must beworn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Clean tools and debris.

  • Remove tools, hardware, accessories and put them away.

  • Place garbage and debris in the van to dispose of upon return to the shop/warehouse.

  1. Ensure stickers are removed.

  • Inspect the system to ensure all stickers have been removed.

  • If any are remaining, peel off by gently pulling on them.  If they are tough to get off, spray cleaner and wait 10-20 seconds.  Use a scraper to get any remaining residue off.

  1. Wipe the system down.

  • Using proper PPE, use the rag and cleaner and thoroughly wipe down the system.

  • Clean any exposed surfaces including the bottoms of shelves, the top of the system, and “hidden” areas.

  1. Use wax filler on blemishes.

  • Refer to the touch up page for the process.

  1. Vacuum drawer boxes.

  • Using your vacuum, clean out all drawers in the system(s).

  • Vacuum out the box and, using a rag, wipe the inside of the box to capture any remaining dirt/dust.

  • Wipe down the outside of the drawer with a rag and cleaner.

  1. Remove any marker.

  • If there is any marker on the system, use a stronger cleaner, such as lacquer thinner or goof-off.

  • If the marker does not come off, the part may need to be replaced.

  • Always clean marker as soon as possible.

  1. Vacuum any dust or dirt on the floor, hallway, or area visited during the installation.

Certification Steps:

  1. ALL Labels have been removed.

  2. All system components have been wiped down using system cleaner.

  3. The system has been vacuumed (drawer cavity, drawer boxes, floor around the system)

  4. Blankets, tarps, and runners are removed, and floors are vacuumed.
