A base cabinet is built created by adding parts to a floor-based component. Base cabinets are , typically 24” deep but . They can be customized. You can create these for part of a closets, offices, media centers, or any other design/space that requires requiring a low lower component with a countertop (think of a kitchen cabinet).
There are various part configurations that you can use used to design a base cabinet, and these configurations will determine the overall height of your the top shelf or countertop.
You will want to consider this based on what you are designing. The image on the left show just a few examples. You can always google typical heights for items like The height should be considered based on the use of the cabinet.

If going deeper, it is easiest to change the depth of the component first. Then add parts, such as drawers, from starting at the bottom up. Then adjust and moving upwards. Adjust the height of the top shelf by grabbing it with your mouse the cursor and pulling it down to your desired height (left), or to sit directly on top of the component parts or to a desired height.

The dimension that is shown on the right is called the Spot Height. It will appear at appears over the top of a fixed shelf and shows provides the distance from the floor to the top of that shelf or the component. Remember, these components do not yet have a countertop added, which will increase the height even more.
Note: You can adjust the depth of your base cabinet, or any component, in the Component Properties menu under ‘Actual Depth’. To adjust the depth of an entire wall or room, make sure the box to the left of ‘Depth’, and apply it to the wall or room.
If you have If the component has doors or a multi-shelf group, you will notice that they have a red ‘Auto’ notice the blue Auto at the top (left). This means they these parts are considered AutoHeight Auto Height parts , and they will automatically shrink or /expand in height as the top shelf height is changed.

There can only be one AutoHeight Auto Height part per component. If you started with one if these parts adding a part at full height (see image on the left), you can click and drag the top shelf down to the desired base cabinet height as you would with drawers, and the part will shrink or expand according to the top shelf height.
However, if you start starting with a part that is not full height (like in the images to the right), you , users should turn the feature off to avoid the part from changing size. Otherwise the AutoHeight Auto Height part will react to the change in component height instead of the empty space, which is likely where you users want to “take” the change in height from. Feel free to practice this, as it may make more sense to see it.

To turn Auto Height off, go into the part properties of the AutoHeight part, Properties [Part] under the ‘Misc’ heading, and turn off the auto-height Auto Height option. With this feature turned off, it will lock the height of that part.
