The board tool is used to create manual panels, fabric boards, and track walls. They are best placed on an empty section of wall, or between components or shelves where it’s not completely closed.

Select the ‘Board’ option to turn on the tool. When you are in a spot where you’d like to insert your board, click and drag a box to create the board in your desired size. Double click and drag on the board to move it to a new location.

The first, or default, option for the board tool is a Manual Panel, which can be used to add our melamine material to a specific area or section of the wall (perhaps between a lower cabinet and upper cabinet).

Right click to go into the board’s ‘Properties [Board]’ to manually type in a dimension, or to modify the finish. This will also allow you to change the ‘Style’ of board from a Manual Panel to a Fabric Board or Fusion Track Wall. The menu will change slightly depending on the style.

Fusion Track Walls

Fusion Track Walls work a little bit different than the other Board options. They are a selection option in the ‘Style’ pulldown of the board properties, but they are constructed using aluminum rails in which you can place a variety of tools and hooks onto. You can also insert our melamine material in between the rails.

They resize and move like the board options we already described, but have more functions and options to adjust. Like the cleats, you can break it into parts – The entire board, the tracks, and material between the tracks. The hooks that hang on the tracks are items that can be edited separately.

Once you have selected ‘Fusion Track Wall’ as the board style in the board properties menu, you will have the option to select the board finish, which is our melamine material that fits in between the tracks. You do not have to have any space in between if you don’t want to. Both layouts are shown in the image below.

You can also manually type in new dimensions (you can also pull the corners of the box with your mouse to resize) and select the height from the floor. You can decide how many tracks you would like, and what color you want the tracks to be (aluminum or white). The number of tracks will depend on the available space, and how many hooks you plan to add. It will also decide how much adjustability you have for moving the hooks.

If checked, ‘Add Panels & Edge’ will place the thinner material checked under ‘Finish’ between the rails. This is a great look for more polished spaces, such as craft rooms. If unchecked, it will simply be open to the wall between the tracks instead. This is a great look for garages and helps keep the cost lower.

Once you’ve set the properties for your board and exited the properties menu, you can continue to edit your Fusion Track Wall from the elevation view. When you right click on the board, your menu options will vary depending on the location of your mouse.

When the board is yellow, right click to edit the entire board properties (shown on the right). You will see options to ‘Delete’ your board (note that ‘Delete All’ will delete your whole wall), and to turn ‘Toggle Move Track Mode’ on or off.

When this feature is on, it will allow you to adjust the location of your track on the board (see image on the left). Select the same option to turn the feature off. You can also choose to ‘Reset Track Positions’ if you want to return to the default track position.

When you have a track highlighted, it will allow you to access the board and track properties (shown on the right). It has similar options to the board right click menu, but it will also give you an option to ‘Move’ the board, and to add hooks to your track.

There are different categories: Standard, Closet, Garage and Office. Of course, you can be creative with the uses of these hooks and use them for different items than what is listed.

To add your hooks, go through any of the options listed, and select a hook you would like to add. It will add onto the track in the position of the mouse when you right clicked to add it.

When you hover over the hook, it will let you know which one is represented. If you right click on the hook, you can choose to delete it.

If you double click on the hook, it will allow you to move it around the track or to another track.

The hooks will also be represented realistically in the 3D view. This example shows a Fusion Track Wall with panels and edges added – If this was not enabled, you would see the wall between the tracks.

Note: Your customer can always add more hooks later as they need them.
