It is important for users to understand how to property select various items in CAD and how to make edits to selected items, whether it be walls, design zones, obstructions, components or parts.

Select Items

Items must be selected to make edits to them, or to move or delete the item. While hovering over an item, it will show with a light blue outline. Once the item is selected by a single left click, the outline turns a darker blue.

When adding a new item, it may automatically goes into selected state and properties will appear in docked menu. Users can click away to turn this off.


Property Menus

The Properties menu holds detailed information and is where the user can make changes specific to it’s dedicated item. There are property menus for walls, design zones, components, obstructions, parts - Almost every item in the program! These menus hold information such as dimensions, finishes, things that can be added, etc. These fields will vary depending on the item and are described in more detail in pages throughout the manual.

To open property menu, click on Properties button in the lower right status bar.


Users can access the properties by single clicking on an item.


Users can alternatively right click and select “Properties [ITEM]


In plan view, users can access Wall or Obstruction properties by single-clicking on those particular items.

Currently, if no item is selected in Elevation view, the properties will default to Design Zone properties. If there are no selections in Plan view, it defaults to none.

Edits made in the properties menu can be applied to other like items using the options at the bottom of the property menu. More information can be found HERE.
