Quick Start Guide

1. Create Network

   1. Distinguish between different locations (Closet 1, Primary, Pantry, etc.)

2. Add Mesh Box Device

   1. Add/Configure new device in the App

   2. Press the + icon to see all unconnected devices in proximity

3. Set Up/Configure Mesh Box, Remote, & Switches

   1. Configure to control your lights

   2. Up to 6 devices for 1 box

4. Create & Set Up Groups

   1. Arrange your devices in groups to control the brightness of certain lights all at once

   2. You can control groups with the app, wall switch, or remote

5. Share Network to Dashboard

   1. Share network to device and upload to Dashboard

6. Overview

   1. Using the devices view will give you an overview of all your connected mesh devices and lights

Complete Setup Guide

The Connect Mesh network is a cohesive system of smart devices (such as light controllers, wall switches, remote controls) that is built on top of the Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh (BLE Mesh) standard.  This is a wireless communication network that allows for included devices to communication with each other.  The more BLE Mesh devices deployed in the network, the bigger the range of the network and its robustness becomes.

Downloading & Starting the App

1. Android Devices:

   1. Download the current version of the Hafele Mesh Connect App from the Google Play store.  Go to the Play Store App and search for ‘Hafele Connect Mesh’.

   2. Once the download is complete, start the App by pressing the App icon on your home screen or App drawer.

2. iOS Devices:

   1. Download the current version of the Hafele Mesh Connect App from the Apple App store.  Go to the Apple Store App and search for ‘Hafele Connect Mesh’.

   2. Once the download is complete, start the App by pressing the App icon on your home screen.

Create Network

1. Create a new mesh network to be able to add devices.

2. Name the network. This should be the name of the client or job.

3. Define the locations utilizing the network; Living Room, Closets, Pantry, etc.

Add Devices

1. Add/Configure the Mesh Distribution Box to the network.

2. Name the device.

3. Identify the ports being used on the distribution box in the app.

 To Reset a Distribution Box via App or Reset Button

Via App

• Click on the device in the app and tap on the edit icon

• Scroll to the bottom of the page

• Locate the “Delete Device” icon

• Select the icon and tap the “Reset” option to reset the mesh device

Via Button

• Insert a small pin into the reset hole.

• The mesh device will reset and be ready for programming again in the app.

Set Up Groups

Switches can be used to control rooms or groups. Groups provide additional freedom in allowing certain lights to function differently from other lights. Groups are most beneficial when using multi-button switches.

1. Navigate to the groups overview screen.

2. Tap on the + icon to add a new group.

3. Give the new group a name and location.

4. Select an applicable symbol for the group.

5. Add lights to the group.

Setup a Wireless Wall Switch

1. If applicable, (see table below), install battery into switch.

2. Navigate to the “Devices” tab and press the + icon. All available devices in programming mode will appear in the list on the following page.

3. Press the + Icon next to the device you would like to add to start the programming process.

4. Once programming has completed, assign the buttons to group(s) in the network.

5. Navigate to the device’s detailed view in order to locate where every button can be configured.

6. Test functionality of the switch.

Setup a Mesh Remote

1. Navigate to the “Devices” tab and press the + icon.

2. All available devices in programming mode will appear in the list on the following page.

3. Press the + icon next to the remote to add and start the programming process.

4. After you have added and programmed the remote, assign the different channels to groups in the network.  The remote control is intended to control groups in a network.  Up to 6 individual groups can be controlled using one remote control.

5. Navigate to the device overview and tap on the remote control.  This opens the device’s detailed view where every button can be configured.

Add & Set Up Scenes

In a scene, the state of all participating devices is saved and can be retrieved at any time. Scenes are most applicable with Mesh Remotes to change the temperature of brightness of a light grouping.

1. Select the switch device on the Devices page.

2. Select the group to add scenes for.

3. Select Scene A and use the sliders or text boxes to select the appropriate brightness and temperature (applicable for tunable white) and save the scene.

4. Repeat Step 3 for Scenes B and C.

If scenes are requested but not specified by the designer, use the following figure to program 3 scenes for the remote/switch.

Export & Share the Network

Sharing of networks should occur when transferring a network to a centralized device following installation, or to the customer directly.

1. On Android Devices

   1. Select “Finish Installation” followed by “Share”

   2. Choose between options “scan network code” or “import connect file”

   3. Files need to be stored on the device or on a cloud service

2. On iOS Devices

   1. Select “Finish Installation” followed by “Share”

   2. Then you will find a list of options available for sharing “network”

   3. The available sharing possibilities are Email, WhatsApp, Messenger, and so on.
