The purpose of this page is to provide expectations and best practices for setting up a successful jobsite and installations. Installers are expected to practice these steps on all jobsites.

Process Expectations

  • Practice safety at all times

    • Wear Personal Protective Equipment

    • Do not carry or move too many or heavy materials by yourself

    • Do not stand on unauthorized ladder rungs. Review the Installer Safety Training Module in CC360.

    • Utilize all safety measures and equipment when using power and hand tools

  • Update your manager by 12:00 local time on the job’s progress. This update must be done whether or not there are issues on the jobsite.

    • Items to update can include mismeasures, parts to be saved, concerns, anticipated concerns, or there are no issues at all.

    • In the case the job may be completed early, your manager may reassign you to assist another installer or team.

  • Communicate with the client during the following opportunities:

    • Estimated time of arrival at the jobsite

    • Mid-Day

    • End of the installation client walkthrough

    • If Applicable: Any changes to the system during the installation. These should always be discussed with the design consultant/client prior to executing.

    • For Trade installations: Communicate with the designated onsite contact.

  • Practice proper protection when staging all materials.

    • Use drop cloths, shoe booties, runners, tarps, wall protection.

  • Keep space tidy and organized at all times. This includes your staging space, building space, and area for tools.

  • Practice professionalism at all times. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Language

      • Do not ever use profanities

      • Use brand positive and encouraging language

      • Refrain from discussing politics or current news stories both with your peers and the client.

    • Your behavior

    • Keeping entry/exit doors closed

    • Keeping your space tidy

    • Representing the brand with pride in your clothing and appearance

    • Music

      • Permission must always be requested before any music is played.

      • Permissible music must be played at a low volume; sound should not carry outside of the space

      • Only Clean/Radio edits of music are to be played

  • Work efficiently

    • Install all part groups at once (hang all rail, hang all partitions, install all fixed shelves, etc.)

    • Work from left to right around the room, when possible

    • Work from corners out on each wall

    • Maximize all trips to and from the van. Avoid traveling empty-handed.

  • Tidy the area and clean the system as you go; this will limit time required at the end of the installation.
