Welcome to your new PC!
We’ve created this guide to help you get up and running and answer any question you may have.
And so, we ask that you please read it thoroughly.
Existing Team Members
If you are an existing team member and this is a replacement laptop, skip to the Configure your new PC section below.
New Hires
As part of your onboarding process, you should have received a Cal Closets email address and password.
(ex. jdoe@calclosets.com)
This account is managed by our Microsoft Office 365 suite (O365). Your login credentials were sent to your manager. If they have not yet shared your credentials with you, please contact your hiring manager prior to setting up your new computer.

Things to know.
Your new PC comes pre-configured to our organization. After you are done with the initial setup process, you may need to wait for some apps to finish installing in the background. The following applications will be installed in the background:
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge
Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Vonage
Azure VPN
Set up your workstation.
Identify the best location
Consider privacy, productivity and ergonomics when setting up your home office. The recommended height of your desk is 29 inches from the floor to the top of the work surface.
Position your monitor so that your eyes are 25-30% below the top of the screen when looking straight ahead.
Set-up your equipment
Position your docking station on the desk and connect to power.
Plug in your monitor(s) and connect to the docking station using the provided HDMI or DisplayPort cables.
Connect your peripherals, like your mouse & keyboard (USB dongle or Bluetooth), webcam (USB), as well as an ethernet cable if using a wired connection.
Connect the computer to the docking station using the thicker USB-C (thunderbolt) cable from the dock.
Configure your new PC.
To set up your new computer, please follow the instructions below:
Power on your new computer.
Select your country. Click Yes.
Select your keyboard layout. Click Yes.
Connect to your Wi-Fi network. Click Next.
Your computer may check for update. Let the process finish.
Next, log in with your Cal Closets O365 credentials.
If you are a new hire, your manager should have provided your credentials to you.
Click Sign In.Your device will then begin the setup process.
Please wait while this process runs.
Once complete, you will see the Windows login screen.
Enter the same credentials you entered in Step 6.Next you may be taken back to the device setup up screen. Wait for this process to finish.
For users who’ve not yet set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), you may be prompted to set it up.
For those who already have MFA set up, skip to Step 15.Download the Microsoft Authenticator App on your smart phone.
Available on both iPhone and Android. Click Next.Then click Next again.
Open the Microsoft Authenticator App on your phone and tap the + icon in the top right.
Select Work or School account and tap Scan QR code.
Scan the QR code shown on your computer with your phone.
Then click Next on your computer.A notification will be sent to your phone.
Tap Approve, and enter the number shown on your phone into the app.You should see a Notification Approved confirmation on your computer, which indicates that you have successfully set up your MFA.
Click Next to proceed.Then click Done.
Next, you can either wait for the device setup to finish completing or click Continue anyway.
Setup is now complete, and you will be taken to your desktop.
From here on out, please use your Cal Closets credentials to log into your machine.
Connect to VPN (if applicable).
The Azure VPN application should automatically be installed on your computer upon initial setup.
Open the Azure VPN Client.
To initiate the VPN connection, click Connect.
If prompted, log in with your Cal Closets O365 account. Click Continue.
Your Azure VPN should now be connected, and you can access certain company resources.
