Finalize a CAD Project

Talk to your sales manager to see if and how the Finalize function is used at your location.

The Finalize button is used to (literally) finalize CAD projects for contract/sale. It creates a copy of the original plan and essentially acts like a “Save As” function. It is found in the Job Manager.

This is often used if there are multiple spaces in a project and the user is only selling some of them. Before Finalizing, users would check the boxes to the far left to Enable the ones that will be sold and the new finalized file will only contain those that are enabled. It removes other all disabled spaces (but don’t worry, they are still in your original project file!).

Once Finalized is selected, it opens a window to name and select a location for the new project file. Select Save when done.

Depending on local process, users would upload this “finalized” project file to Dashboard and import the invoice.

This new copy means that the original project file still contains all of the designs – Enabled or not. Users can keep the original in case the client decides to buy eventually. Users can delete the sold spaces from the original project if preferred.

If your location is still using zipped project file formats, this process will work the same way but the final project will be in zipped format as well. The zipped project will contain everything needed to upload to Dashboard.
