Generic & Other Obstructions

The Generic obstruction can be used to create any obstruction that doesn’t have an existing option in the pulldown. This may include alarm boxes, electrical panels, soffits, ductwork or pipes, etc (note that they will always be square).

Users may also see additional obstructions that behave the same way (some examples shown on the right).

First, enter the horizontal and vertical dimensions to match measurements from the consultation.

For example, the object may be an alarm box that is 12” wide, 15” high, and 3” deep (how far does it protrude from the wall).

Generic obstructions may be easier to edit in the Elevation view, as long as there is a design zone on the same wall.

Note the values in the vertical, horizontal and depth fields below to get an idea of how they represent different obstructions. The horizontal and vertical offsets will always vary depending on the length of the walls and the ceiling height. Click to Zoom on any image below.
