3D View (Old)

This version of the 3D viewer is sunsetting on 4/2/2024. It is being replaced by the WebGL viewer. More information found here: https://calclosets.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/30/article/2713649154

The 3D view shows the space in perspective. A user can move around within the 3D model to view any wall or angle at different distances.

Perspectives are not used for install. They are presentational drawings, a sales tool to help better communicate with a customer as they are generally easier for customers to see and understand. The 3D views automatically update as changes are made to the design in Plan or Elevation views.

In the ribbon toolbar, the user can adjust additional features relating to the 3D view (these are the same for WebGL).

WALLS: Adjust the wall color to better match the customer’s space. Autohide dictates whether the walls will “hide” depending on the angle. Having this disabled will likely obstruct the view of the design. Opacity will change the visibility of the walls - All the way to the right will make the walls disappear.

PARTS: Show certain parts or features by enabling (checked) or disabling (uncheck) the boxes shown.
Always leave Show Holes checked! Turning this off can be misleading to the client.

FLOOR: Adjust the floor finish to better match the customer’s flooring.

3D: If Remember Positions is checked, opened doors/doors/parts will remain open when switching between views or making changes to the design. If unchecked, the parts will close as the view resets.

SNAP SHOT: Save custom 3D viewpoints, which are populated in the Images tab.

LIGHTS: Adjust the brightness of the 3D view in various ways.
Adjusting these too much may skew the appearance of the board or accessory finishes.
