NEW: CAD 3.0 Upgrade

ClosetCADPro’s 3.0 Upgrade is coming to CCO locations on June 6th!

This is an addendum to the rest of the ClosetCADPro User Manual. Once CAD 3.0 is rolled out to the system, the new features will be added or integrated into the rest of the manual.

CAD 3.0 is only compatible with Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Improvements in Performance & Stability

ClosetCADPro 3.0 is a significant upgrade to the application that will improve the overall performance. Crashes should be reduced and the parts list, details page, and DWG page should run smoother with fewer crashes, and print clearer and crisper.

Watch this quick video to see highlights of the new CAD 3.0 features. Detailed information on each new feature or upgrade is found below.

NOTES:

  • The upgrade is like upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11 or iPhone iOS 15 to 16

  • No need to reinstall CAD, does not change files/projects or pricing

  • Not a significant change to program visually

WHEN?

  • All CCOs will automatically switch over on Tuesday, June 6th

    • Franchises: INFO COMING SOON

  • Moving forward, updates will only be made on CAD 3.0 (ex. Mesh lighting updates)

CAD 3.0 FEATURES

Announcement Screen (NEW)

The Announcement Screen is a new feature that has been added to the opening update screen. Announcements found here come directly from the CAD team, and may contains tips & tricks, update or program changes, resources and other key information relating to CAD.

An example of the Announcement Screen

Arrows on either side of the image allow the user to scroll through various announcements. All other functionality found here remains the same.

After the first time opening with this new feature, the Announcement Screen will auto-hide. Users can open to see it again by clicking on the up arrow (as seen here).

Options Menu (NEW)

The selections in the Main Menu (red 3D icon in upper left corner) have been upgraded to include new thumbnails and functionality, most notably the Options selection.

The Options menu will open a window. This window will contain:

  • An easier way to change where the CAD files are saved (default save location)

  • Settings for Elevation and Plan views that do not get changed often will slowly be migrated from the ribbon view into the options menu (for example, grid and snap settings)

Project Details Refinement

The Project Details dialogue has been refined and irrelevant fields have been removed.

Status Bar (NEW)

The Status Bar will now appear at the bottom of the design window. Similar to the Job Manager, without opening a separate window, the Status Bar will constantly provide information such as the material, room type, quote and lead times.

If the Job Manager is open, the quote and lead times in the Status Bar will automatically update. Otherwise, you can refresh the status after making design changes to see the revised price/lead times. The reason it does not automatically update is to reduce memory usage when using the program, which can slow everything down.

If the quote is hidden, turn it on by right-clicking on the Status Bar. Anything with a check mark next to it will be shown.

Enhanced Design Tabs

Spaces/designs that are disabled in the Job Manager will now appear with grey and italicized space names in their tabs to clearly indicate that there are disabled.

Parts List Enhancements

The Parts List has some enhancements that make it easier to view and print.

  • When printing or printing to PDF one row of text will no longer be split between two pages

  • Text will wrap down to next line when exceeding a certain width

Hover/Selection Color Change

When hovering over or selecting Parts, the color has changed from yellow/red to blue.

This makes the selection seem more “friendly” and less concerning as red can be, as red is best used for warnings, errors, etc. All other functionality remains the same.

Review Pane (NEW)

The Review Pane is a feature that provides a passive way for users to see warnings and errors and troubleshoot at the same time. The purpose is to improve the quality of jobs sold as the user can diagnose and solve these issues, or review items, more quickly and easily.

Review items will have either a yellow icon or red icon in the Elevation view. Users can hover over these items to see a more specific label.

Review items also appear as a consolidated list in the Review Pane, which is located in the lower left of the CAD screen. Clicking on Review Pane will open the list.
