.3dcs

File format of Legacy CAD files. Structure is similar to .ccz files. .3dcs files cannot be opened in ClosetCADPro.

 

.3dds

File format of the file that is exported from Dashboard.

 

.ccd

File format of a design within a project. This file cannot be opened on its own, but it can be selected to import into another project.

 

.ccp

The project file, contains the customer information and link to .ccd files for each of the contained spaces.

This file format is no longer active, although older files will remain in this format until reopened.

.ccz

The single file format (contains the .ccd and the .ccp files).

.csv

.csv is a file format. "CSV" stands for "Comma-Separated Values". This is a common output format that can be read in Excel. CAD uses CSV files for the 'Export -> Full CSV' tool to export all the available parts and fields in a file. The Screen-to-Machine output also uses a CSV file along with DXFs to export all the machining information.

 

.dash

File format of the file that is auto-extracted from your .zip file.

 

.html

File format of the BOM/Parts List.

 

.zip

Zip files are a way to compress and combine 1 or more files into a single, smaller file. ClosetCADPro will copy and compress the contents of the CAD project folder into a zip file so it can be shared/uploaded to Dashboard when you select 'Export -> Dash (zip)'. Users can also compress and decompress zip files directly in Windows (right-click on folder and select 'Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder' to compress a folder into a zip file, right-click and select 'Extract All' to decompress/unzip a file).

3DCADSoft

Irish software company that developed Legacy CAD and ClosetCADPro.

 

BOM

Bill Of Materials. This term is used interchangeably with the Parts List.

CAD ID

The keys themselves are identified by the CAD ID. The CAD ID is unique to each user and is a combination of the Dealer ID and User ID (ex. 1-2).

Component

A group of parts that make up one individual structure/cabinet within a space. A component will have editable properties and most parts within a component will have their own part properties.

Concealed Hardware

Refers to products/parts related to the original launch of the Paxton Collection.

 

Database

ClosetCADPro uses different databases depending on your location. A database is a set of excel spreadsheets (tables) that can be customized depending on your business's local product offering.

 

Dealer ID

CCPro Key ID associated with different California Closets businesses/locations.

Dev

Short for “software development”.

 

Drilling Zones

ClosetCADPro feature on Engineer keys only. Feature allows user to customize drilling on a section of a partition instead of applying drilling changes to entire partition. 

DWG

A tab within the ClosetCADPro ribbon where 2D and 3D images can be laid out for a customer (this is labelled 'P-Cust' in the Job Manager).

DXF

File exchange format for Screen to Machine. A DXF viewer is required to open these files.

 

Job Manager

A function within ClosetCADPro that manages the customer information and pricing information for all spaces within a ClosetCADPro project.

Legacy CAD

The software used prior to ClosetCADPro, titled 'ClosetCAD'. Legacy CAD files cannot be opened in ClosetCADPro.

 

Modular

Refers to the Everyday System collection in collaboration with Martha Stewart.

MSRP

Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.

 

Ortho

Setting in Plan View. Makes the walls snap into place at 45 degree intervals.

Screen to Machine

This term is used for the process by which ClosetCADPro files can be converted to instructions for CNC machines to cut, drill, and notch manufactured parts. An intermediary software (post processor) is used to convert the DXF/Screen-to-Machine output from CAD to code/files that manufacturing equipment can read. The most commonly used software to do this translation are CutRite and CADCode.

 

SFD

“Supported Franchise Database”

 

USB (CAD) Key

Access to ClosetCADPro is controlled using special USB keys that must be connected to your PC while running the software. Additionally CAD keys can be activated and deactivated by request to 3dcadsoft. Businesses are charged for active keys.

User ID

The User ID connected to the USB Key. The User ID will be unique within each Dealer ID

WebGL

Web Graphics Library. An upgraded viewer for viewing a design in 3D. Customer has ability to view design in 3D through a web browser.
