Overview
This guide will walk you through the process of upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. There are two scenarios in which you can upgrade to Windows 10. Your PC will either prompt you to perform the upgrade, or IT Support will enable the upgrade for your PC.
Prerequisites
A computer running Windows 10 that supports Windows 11
You can download the Microsoft Win11 compatibility checker here.
Time required: 45 minutes
Getting Started
Save and close all important files and programs.
You will either have gotten a prompt to upgrade to Windows 11, or you need to manually check for an update.
To manually check for an update, in your start menu search bar, search for “windows update” and select it. Then click Check for updates.
If Windows 11 is available, it will begin to download automatically.
Once complete, you will be prompted to restart your PC. Click Restart Now or select a later time.
Your PC will reboot in order to complete the Windows 11 upgrade.
When finished, you will be able to log back into your newly upgraded Windows 11 PC.
