Marker Boards

Marker bords usually have an aluminum “z” cleat on the back side and there are usually 2 of them. Figure out where you want the board to be and mark the bottom. Make a mark. Now on the back side of the board tape the “z” cleats together if they aren’t already. Now measure from the bottom up to the bottom of both or more “z” cleats. Transfer those marks to the wall, and with a level draw out the lines. remove the tape on the “z” cleat so that they separate. One will come off and the other will be attached. Take the one that came off and Line up the bottom of the “z” cleat with the lines you just made and find your studs. Mark them out on the “z” cleat. If there are no studs or just need to use a toggle make sure that the bolt you are going to use isn’t so big that it interferes with the install. If it is going to you will have to use an easy anchor instead. Drill out your holes in the “z” cleat. Drill out and add any anchors to the wall that are needed. Now put the “z” cleat back on the wall and anchor them to it. Now grab the board and get raise it about 6 inches higher than it should go. Press it to the wall and bring it down until it slides into the “z” cleat. Give it a strong push down to make sure that it goes all the way in. add any accessories and make sure it is clean for delivery.
***just for reference when I say board it is actually glass
On the board, measure from top of the panel down to the center of the pre-drilled hole in the bottom track. Note this measurement.
Repeat this measurement for bottom bottom track. Note this measurement.
Remove tape to separate the pieces of the Z cleat and remove bottom track
Measure from floor to indicated height of accessory (confirm if that is the bottom or top or board)
Transfer both cleat marks to the wall.
Draw a level line for both bottom cleats.
Place the bottom cleat on the wall, with the line centered on the holes.
Determine location of studs for securement points. Drill for any toggles using a 1/2” drill bit.
All holes on the cleat should be used for securement. At least 2 studs should be hit for securement.
Secure using 2.5” screws and toggles through all holes on the bottom cleats.
Hook the board onto the bottom cleats.
