Installation Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Measure the placement of the island to ensure proper space to move around. Determine the spacing from the elevation.

If the spacing is not indicated, consult with the designer or the customer.

  • Make a pencil mark on the backing to indicate where the fixed shelves are for alignment.

  • Attach the backing to the fixed shelves using 18-gauge 1 1/4” nails. Use 2 per shelf.

Be aware of screws can be placed to be hidden.  If screws cannot be hidden, use fast caps.

  1. If the island is a multi-component island, install fixed shelves on the remaining side of the island.

  2. Ensure the placement is accurate according to the elevation, and the island is level.
