Change Component Mounting Type

Change Component Mounting Type

When adding a new component, moving the cursor up or down before placement will determine the mounting type. There are various ways to change mounting type after the component is in a design zone.

Remember, if changing from off-the-floor to a to-the-floor system, filler may need to be added on the components next to the wall. This may also require changing component widths to accommodate.

1

Quickly change an off-the-floor component to a to-the-floor by hovering near the bottom of the component until an arrow appears. The arrow will turn green when ready to be clicked.

Click on the arrow to extend the component to the floor. A toe kick and scribe will automatically be added.

Note that this method only works one way; There is no “magic arrow” to switch to a wall system from a floor system.

2

Switch back and forth between component mounting types by going into the Properties [Comp] menu and changing the Mounting Type under the Construction heading. This change can be applied to multiple components if desired using the Apply To options.

Depending on certain the component and parts, certain parts may shift when changing mounting types. If this happens, manually adjust the parts afterwards. You may also notice width changes in components against a wall with floor molding.

Globally Change Mounting Types

The program offers additional ways to change mounting type for all components in a design using the Set All to Floor/Wall Mounted feature. This is an easy way to show a customer the difference in cost or appearance between the two options. It is recommended to first make a copy of the design so the original remains in case users need to revert back.

Click on the Settings tab in either the ELV or 3D view. From the Unit Mounting Type section of the ribbon toolbar, select Set All Floor Mounted or Set All Wall Mounted.

When the Auto Update Height feature box is checked, it will lock the height of certain parts (such as hanging poles) when the toe kick is added. This ensures that the distance between the hanging pole and the floor (the hang height) remains the same. However, this will change the top shelf height to accommodate.

When the Auto Update Height feature box is unchecked, the top shelf height does not change when switching mounting types, and a warning symbol will display to indicate the height under the hanging has changed. Either adjust the height of the poles, or simply click on the warning to make it disappear.
