3D Objects

3D objects are used to make a design look more realistic and to give the customer a better idea of how the finished product will look. Select the 3D Objects tab from the ribbon toolbar. It will open a new ribbon toolbar in plan, elevation, or 3D view.

There are a variety of different options for filling sections of the design such as hanging items, shoes, and shelf items.

Users can filter the type or number of 3D objects. Check the box beside one or multiple categories to only see specific options. Otherwise, the drop down list located next to the default item will show ALL 3D objects.

Objects can be added individually or by filling available parts.

Using the drop downs, select the desired object. Left click to place the individual object in specific locations. Hanging items can be placed on poles, shoes can go on slanted or flat shelves, and shelf items can go on flat shelves.

For hanging or shoes, the objects can quickly Fill the space (will apply on all poles and/or slanted shoe shelves). Users can choose to add all of the selected item from the drop down, or fill with random objects from the drop down. The type of 3D object added depends on the available space.

If you are not able to add a selected part, it may be because the required space (height, width, depth) is not available. Objects have certain height or width requirements.

3D objects can be moved by double clicking on them. They can also be moved or deleted by accessing the right click menu. Many objects have the option to clone.

Users can quickly remove all 3D objects by selecting Clear All in the ribbon toolbar. It is suggested to do this when finalizing plans, before sending to the plan reviewer.

Add books by clicking to add one by one or scrolling to add multiples. Additional edits can be made in Properties [Part].

3D Object Properties

3D objects can be edited in their Properties [Parts]. The property fields may vary based on the type of 3D object. Here are some examples:

Generally, it provides options to change the object type, dimensions, location on the shelves, and potentially the rotation. If editing books, users will see the option to randomize the type of books as well as fill the shelf (an alternative to scrolling while adding).

Any of these edits can be applied to other, similar 3D objects using the Apply properties to.. feature.
