Creating Customer Drawings

Users can create a customer drawing in the DWG tab. This is a great tool for creating print-offs to share with a customer. Users can select views they want to share, and can add text, include quote, dates, etc. Some locations use customer drawings as part of the contract.

Customer drawings automatically place the title of the design and the main finish in the upper left-hand corner.

Users can adjust the font size, the layout of the page (letter or legal), add notes and images, and adjust the title block in the ribbon toolbar.

The small pin icon next to the text heights will allow users to lock these values for use in future projects.

Title Blocks

The title block is located at the bottom of the DWG and contains the client’s name, date, and total price. Users can turn each item on and off by checking or unchecking the boxes in the ribbon toolbar.

The Quote has an expiration date, and the “Valid Until” date is 30 days after the DWG is printed. The exception is if the space has a promo, in which case the quote is valid until the end of the promotional period.

Add Images & Notes

Select the Add Image option in the toolbar and click and drag the cursor to create a box. It will prompt the user to select images of the plan view, elevations, or one of the viewpoints saved in 3D.

Users can resize images by pulling any of the nodes in either direction. Right click to edit (change) the image, copy it, rotate it, or delete it.

Click and hold the shift key to select multiples to delete.

Notes work in a similar way. They are used to bring attention to certain items or used as an information tool for the client. Select Create Note from the Tools section of the ribbon toolbar and click and drag to create a box.

The right click menu has options to edit, delete, or add a pointer – Just like adding text notes to the elevation or plan view.

Users can also edit the images or notes by double clicking on them. This will pull up a box to make changes.

Page Navigation

Users can add more pages to the customer drawing by right clicking and selecting Add Page. Likewise, users can delete pages with the Delete Page option.

The right click menu offers the additional navigation options:

  • View All: Shows layout of all pages in the customer drawing in one view. Exit by right clicking and selecting Go To.

  • Go To: Specify a certain page to view by typing in a new number and pressing enter.

  • Next Page: Jumps to the next page in the series.

  • Previous Page: Jumps to the page before the current one.

  • First Page: Jumps to the first page in the series.

  • Last Page: Jumps to the end page in the series.

Users can also scroll the mouse wheel or use the up/down arrow keys to quickly navigate through the various pages.
