The Parts List (sometimes referred to as the BOM or Bill of Materials) holds important information and pricing for the selected design. It is used by the production department to order parts for manufacturing.

It is also very important to constantly reference the Parts List while designing to get familiar with where items are located and how they impact cost.

There are a few things the parts list is used for:

    • To check materials, part and accessory finish

    • To double check pricing and items within the space

    • Holds drilling and notch information

    • Shows quantity, size, thickness and cost for all parts

Users can search the Parts List by clicking Ctrl + F on the keyboard.

    PARTS LIST PROFILES

Users with an Engineering key can change the Profile type of the Parts List in the ribbon toolbar. This may be dependent on the user’s role or how the Parts List is being viewed/used. Typically, these profiles are utilized by Plan Reviewers.

Profiles are located in the Parts List ribbon toolbar.

Use the down arrow next to Profile to change. Note that depending on the user's key type, the options may differ from what is shown in the example.

Users with a Designer key will have the “Designer” profile as the default. This profile consolidates or groups the information in a more user-friendly way for what Design Consultants need to view.

For example, this profile makes it easier to read, spot errors, and mismatched finishes on parts. It also “hides” the smaller parts that may not be pertinent to the design process within the parent parts (drawer clips, hinge covers, etc.).

Engineers may select any of the other Profiles based on what information they need to access.

    REMINDERS:

    • The Designer license type can only see one parts list profile

    • The Engineer license type has access to all parts list profiles

The “Design” box can be checked to show the ID of the design zone where that part exists (ei, 1, 2, etc).
