Change Component Depths

The depth of the design zone dictates the depth of a new, empty component. However, users can change the depth of components, either individually or for multiples using Properties [Component]. Change the number in the Actual Depth field.

Having the Depths label turned on allows users to quickly view the component depth, which is helpful if there are various component depths in a design zone. This is found in the Display section of the Elevation ribbon toolbar.

If changing depths on multiple components with doors or pull outs, a warning or double par may appear. If changing the depth of just one component and not the others, a double par may be required and should remain - Refer to the local plan reviewer with any questions.

Users may want to remove the double partition(s) because they are not always necessary. This is done under Construction in Properties [Component]. Uncheck the right box(es) for left/right partitions as needed. However, this method will also auto-adjust the widths, and it creates a lot of extra work.

The easiest way to approach this scenario is to plan before changing depths. If users uncheck the Auto Partitions box in the ribbon toolbar, it will stop components from double parring.

Users may get a warning that states “Invalid Partition Depths” but this will disappear once the depth change is applied to the wall. This method will save a lot of time and energy.
