Importing Customer Information from CC Dashboard
Instead of manually entering customer information into Project Details, users can export/import customer information directly from California Closets Dashboard into a new CAD project file.
The first step is to ensure the customer is set up in Dashboard. If you need assistance with this, or do not have a Dashboard login, reach out to your manager.
Once in Dashboard, navigate to the customer’s specific Job Screen. Click on Export Job towards the upper right, next to where the option to print the customer/job details page is located.
Select 3dCadSoft (.3dds) as the Export Format and click on Export.
This will prompt a download. The location of where it is saved may vary by computer (it is typically the user’s desktop or downloads folder). Next, locate the file on the user’s computer - If it defaults to a ClosetCadPro file (it will be a red 3D icon thumbnail, as seen below) and can be opened like any other project file.
If the file is not recognized as a ClosetCADPro file (it is not showing as a red 3D thumbnail), you can right click on the file, select Open With and locate ClosetCADPro as the default program.
Upon opening, the customer information in the Project Details should auto-populate. The user can manually edit any of the information that may seem incorrect or missing.
If all information is correct, click OK to exit Project Details. The user will be taken to the Setup Wizard page to begin drawing the space.
Alternatively, a user can import the information from the downloaded file from the Project Details dialogue.
Create a new project and select Import Dash at the bottom left. This will auto-fill the Customer and Job Details with the information contained within the exported Dashboard file.
