Text Notes & Manual Parts

Text notes display information on a design, and can be used to price and call out a custom item or part. Text notes are added in either the plan or elevation view.

Left click on Add Note located under the Tools section in the ribbon toolbar.

Left click and drag the cursor to create a text box. A box pops up and for the user to type a note. Select Ok once finished. To edit what is written, either double click on the text note, or right click and select Edit.

Left click and hold to move. Resize a text box by clicking and dragging any of the nodes surrounding it.

To change text alignment, right click the note and go to Text Align (left/right/center). For the Font options, adjust the font type, font style, size, and color.

Right click and select Properties [Note]. This is also where the user can make additional edits to text notes such as font settings.

There is the option to Copy (paste by right clicking on an empty section of design zone and select Paste Note) towards the bottom of the right click menu. To delete, select the option in the right click menu (Delete All will delete all components), or left click on it to highlight (can select multiple parts) and use the Delete key on the keyboard.

Text notes can point to a certain spot in the current view by using pointer arrows. Right click on the note and select Pointer. The arrow can be removed by selecting the same option again. Arrows can be moved around if needed by using the Move Pointer selection.

TEXT NOTE CATEGORIES / MANUAL ITEMS

Categories and items are also found in the middle of the right click menu. These are very specific by location and may include certain parts (often time these are parts that are new or in testing, so they are not yet fully developed in the program), labor charges, trip charges, etc. that aren’t found elsewhere in the program. These items have information such as pricing or lead time automatically associated with them.

Start by adding a text note. The user can either type something temporary in the box, or click OK to exit. Right click to access the manual parts, noting that most have submenus to select exact products or charges.

Ask for local protocol when adding manual items via text note. Pointers or additional information may need to be added.

These manual parts show up on the Parts List under the “Manual” subheading, but will not show in 3D view as they do not have renderings associated with them. They show up on your Parts List ONLY if the box is checked.

Quantity can be changed in the text note Part Properties.
