Where to Find Cost/Quote/Price

As a user designs, adds parts and components, and manipulates finishes and hardware in ClosetCADPro, the cost of a design automatically changes. It is important to know where to find the price or quote so the user can stay within the customer’s budget, understand the cost of certain parts and materials, and use as part of the presentation or contract phase of the sale.

There are a few places that the quote can be located or shared:

PARTS LIST

The parts list provides the most in-depth information on every part and piece within a design. This is not to be used for presenting price, but rather used by the design consultant, when not in front of the customer, to check price breakdowns (and more), or used by the production department to order parts for manufacturing.

The parts list will have the overall quote price of that design towards the top. Underneath, each part is grouped by part type (ex. partitions, shelves, hardware, etc.) and contains the cost of each part individually as well as the total cost for all similarly grouped parts.

STATUS BAR

The status bar provides a quick and easy way to see the price of a design, and how it changes while the user is actively designing, with or without the customer present.

JOB MANAGER

Like the status bar, the job manager (opened from the upper right corner of the program screen) is an easy way to see the price of a design, and how it changes while the user is actively designing, with or without the customer present.

The user can view the total quote of the project file (only includes enabled spaces) and the quote per individual design or space.

Having the job manager open may also slow down the performance of the program. It also requires a window to be open in order for the quote to be present, but it also makes the current design view (elevation, plan or 3D) smaller which may not be ideal.

CUSTOMER DRAWING

The customer drawing (located in the DWG tab) is often used for presenting designs to a customer or as part of the contract phase. When creating these drawings, the user has the option to include the quote or not - If the “quote” box in the ribbon toolbar is checked, it will be included.

E-MAIL TOOL

When a user e-mails a design to a customer for viewing (after a consultation or during design review), they have the option to include the quote. This is controlled in the job manager - Ensure that the box for “e-price” is checked before sending.

When a customer opens the link provided, the quote will appear alongside the options to view the design.
