This page explains the steps to take for prepping and hanging partitions with the Traser brackets required for Press-In-Backing. For information on how to prep partitions with standard suspension brackets, review the process steps for Prepping & Hanging Partitions (Standard Suspension). Prior to beginning this process, ensure you have completed all steps to prepare for the installation, and the rail has been hung for all spaces.

Process Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Stack partitions on sawhorses.

  • Stack the partitions in order from left to right (of the full space) with the right partition on the bottom and left on the top.

    • If you placed the top partition face down, flip it over so the System 32 holes are facing up.

  • Theoretically, if you were to pick up the partitions from the sawhorses and place them against the wall, they would stand in the correct order from left to right.

Do not prep partitions against the wall; find a location to prep on sawhorses with partitions laying horizontally.  This may be outside of the space or the home.

  1. Make markings on the partitions for hardware, using the elevation as your guide.

  • Line up the partition on top with the back row of holes on the partition below so that it is the left and right side of the same component.

  • Use a pencil and mark the shelf hardware locations:

    • For fixed shelves: Place an X next to the hole that gets the connecting bolt or dowel. Refer to the System 32 indicators or shelf spacing dimensions on the elevation to understand placement of shelf hardware.

      • If you are counting System 32 holes, prior to marking your partitions, count the holes on the elevation and write the number of holes next to each shelf space.

If the partition has custom drilling and no System 32 holes, refer to the elevation for all hardware locations.

  1. Transfer the marks to the opposing partition stacked below to ensure both sides of the component are the same.

  1. Install all fixed shelf hardware using a drill.

  1. Install all adjustable shelf pins. This includes any applicable glass shelf pins. If there is backing on the system, skip to Step 6.

  1. Install Traser brackets

  1. Install securement Corner Brackets (the plastic bracket and metal insert bracket).

  1. Hang the partition on the system rail by hooking the top of the bracket onto the top of the rail cover.

  1. Repeat Step 8 until all partitions are hung on the rail. Space each partition according to the component width indicated on the elevation.

  2. Install the top fixed shelves for the full system to lock in the partitions.

  3. Adjust partitions in order to level the system. There are two adjustments on the suspension bracket:

  1. Ensure partitions are level to the high point in the room.

Terms & Definitions

Adjustable Shelves

A shelf type requiring movable shelf pins to hold shelf in place.  This shelf’s placement can be adjusted according to the customer’s preference.

Elevation

The CAD Design Plan created by the Design Consultant with the client.

Fixed Shelves

A shelf type requiring locking cams to hold shelf in place.  This shelf is used to strengthen the overall structure of the system.

System 32

The lines on the edge of each par show where the System 32 bore holes are.
System 32 is a drilling pattern for cabinet sides and pars consisting of 5mm diameter holes drilled on 32mm centers. On each par, there are 2 lines of holes and can be drilled as half-bore (not all the way through the par) and through-bore (all the way through the par). The horizontal lines on each par show the exact location of the System 32 holes. The diameter of the line indicates if the hole is half-bore or through-bore.

Shelf Spacing Dimension

This measures the distance, in inches, between shelving.
