03. INSTALL CURRICULUM
This section outlines the install curriculum and the process of utilizing it to track your install team’s progress.
What is the install curriculum?
The install curriculum is a full layout of all installation skills, levels, and criteria for navigating the development of an installer. It consists of all hard and soft skills required for each level of installer, and the requirements to graduate to each level.
How was the install curriculum developed?
To make a long story short, the current version of the curriculum was developed through Franchise & CCO feedback on installer learning and progression, cross-referencing of the SPG for accurate product offering information, and extensive review by the Installer Journey Core Team to ensure everything we install is included in a measurable and granular fashion.
If you have any questions regarding the development, or want to understand more in-depth, reach out the installerjourney@calclosets.com.
How does the install curriculum get updated?
As the install trainer, you will update your team’s status and progress in the curriculum. Follow the steps to complete the curriculum.
As new solutions are launched, the Installer Journey team will update your location’s curriculum sheet in SharePoint to ensure it is kept up-to-date.
If you have a printed version of the 2025 Curriculum Poster, blank spaces have been made available for you to add in new solutions as they become available.
How do I use the curriculum?
The curriculum is best used as an at-a-glance visual for your team’s learning progress and the respective level of each installer. When displayed in the office, it can be used as a motivation tool for installers to see their opportunities for learning and advancement.
Highlight current statuses on the curriculum during install team meetings and one-on-ones to bring focus to the opportunities each team member has.
How should I share the curriculum with my install team?
It is up to each location whether they want to display the curriculum printed on a wall, or digitally on the computer.
On the Wall: As mentioned above, this is a great visual tool for installers to view their progress and opportunities. It is important to keep this up-to-date so everyone is receiving the correct information at the same time.
Digitally: Pending space availability, it may be the best choice to keep the Curriculum in your location’s SharePoint folder and share with install team members from time to time. You can keep the curriculum up-to-date by editing the worksheet directly from your SharePoint folder.
