Process Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Prepare for the installation.

  2. Hang all pieces of rail.

  • Begin with any upper section(s) that do not rest on any part of the lower system.

  • If the upper system is resting on the top of the counter on the lower system, you will need to complete the lower system first and proceed using the stacked units method.

  1. Build the skeletons and level, plumb and secure each upper system to the wall.

  2. Complete the skeletons of each lower section. Level, plumb and secure these to the wall.

  3. Install single or multi-piece countertops and complete any installation of scribe.

  4. Notch the countertops or material for any grommets, and install specified grommets.

During a mid-day check in, consider confirming the grommet location with the customer.

  1. Install any power solutions and ensure cables are managed in a clean and discreet manner.

  2. If there is a peninsula, or a part of the desk that is not against a wall, this will require full backing.

  • Build these sections and place them in their estimated location prior to setting any countertops down.

  • In some cases, there will be a modesty panel that will be the length of the desk and support the countertop.

  • Attach the modesty panels to the wall or system so the lower system is standing on its own safely.

  • Install the countertops and grommets/power solutions.

  1. Install any applicable accessories, as indicated on the elevation

  2. Complete the installation, touch ups, and cleaning of the system and jobsite.
