Boards

The board tool is used to create manual panels (from a variety of materials such as TFL, mirror, markerboard, etc.), fabric boards, track walls, and more. They are best placed on an empty section of wall or between components or shelves where it’s not completely enclosed (where the applied panel tool may be more appropriate) as users can dictate the size of them.

Select the Boards option from the ribbon toolbar. Hover over the desired location and left click, hold, and move the cursor to create a box to in roughly the desired size. This can be edited after placement.

Boards move and delete like others parts.

Double click on the board to move it, or click and drag the nodes on the perimeter to resize it.

They can also resize using the nodes surrounding the board, or double click on the dimensions that surround the board in Elevation view to type in a new number, and press enter to set (see left).

There will be errors if the board is too large for the selected material. If you see Rotate Grain, Reduce Height or Reduce Width, edit as necessary.

If placing or moving a board, and it interferes with a component/part/design zone, the user will see a warning. Move or resize the board for the warning to disappear.

If needing help fitting a board into a specific area, consult your local plan reviewer.

The default option for the board tool is a 19mm piece of board (often times called a manual panel), which can be used to add a piece of board material to a specific area or section of the wall (like between a lower cabinet and upper cabinet, or to create fluting between components).

BOARD PROPERTIES

To edit, left clock on the board to access the board properties (or right click and select Properties [Board]).

The Style of board is where the user can switch from a 19mm Board (the default) to various other styles such as mirror, leather, back painted glass, Fabric Board or Fusion Track Wall. The menu will change slightly depending on the style.

The Finish options depend on the selected style. Rotate Grain will change the direction of the pattern, if applicable and depending on material sizes.

Users can specify a Width and Height for the board. The distance from wall or floor can also be edited using either method.

Display All Dims turns these dimensions on or off.
