Text Notes (Updated!)
Notes are used to add text or important information (such as a notation, directive note, sign off note, disclaimers, etc.) to a design. They can be intended for clients, designers, plan reviewers or installers.
Add Text Note
Text notes are added in either the plan or elevation view. To add a simple text note, where users can dictate what the note says, left click on Add Note located under the Tools section of the ribbon toolbar.
Once turned on, left click and hold, “dragging” the cursor to create a box. A window pops up and for the user to type a note. Select Ok once finished.
To add a predetermined text note, which vary by location, click the down arrow next to Add Note. Select an option from the menu/submenus and left click to place. A window will not pop up as the text automatically populates.
Left click and hold to move any text notes. Resize a text box by left clicking on any of the nodes surrounding it, hold and “drag” to a new size.
Edit Text Notes
Many edits can be made to a text note in the right click menu.
To change what is written in a note, either double click on the text note, or right click and select Edit. If using a text note template (from the down arrow menu), text is added to what is already written.
However, many times it is best to add an additional custom text note with the extra information instead.
Properties [Note] is where the user can make additional edits to text notes such as quantity (if applicable) and font settings.
To change the text formatting, right click the note and go to Text Align and select Left/Right/Center). For Font options, select Font… and adjust the font type, font style, size, and color from the pop-up window.
There is the option to Copy (paste by right clicking on an empty section of design zone and select Paste Note) towards the bottom of the right click menu.
To delete, select the option in the right click menu (Delete All will delete all components), or left click on it to highlight (can select multiple parts) and use the Delete key on the keyboard.
Text notes can be pointed to a certain spot in the current view by using pointer arrows. Right click on the note and select Pointer.
The arrow can be removed by selecting the same option again.
Arrows can be moved around if needed by using the Move Pointer selection.
