Manual Parts (New!)
Manual Parts are parts or pieces that are not fully developed in CAD but can still be added to a design (often time these are parts that are new or in testing, so they are not yet fully developed in the program). Some may also be additional labor charges or used for custom vendor parts. These items have information such as pricing or lead time automatically associated with them.
Manual Parts are located in the “Parts” section of the ELV Ribbon Toolbar. Cable Management and Power Solutions work in a very similar way.
Click the down arrow to view the list, and select a part to add. Some parts have additional submenus (the arrows on the side).
Select the part, and left click to place the part in the Elevation view. Position the part as close to the actual position as possible, paying attention to the distance from floor or where it sits within another part or component.
Pointers or additional text noted information may be needed when adding Manual Parts, Cable Management or Power Solutions. See the DRG or ask a manager for local protocol.
Many of these parts have a generic representation in the 2D Elevation view and in the 3D view. Some are simply text notes.
Additional edits can be made in the Manual Part properties (right). The options will vary depending on the part selected (some have properties similar to Text Notes).
Manual parts can be moved by a double left click, and left click again to release when repositioned. To delete, right click and select delete, or single left click and use the Delete key on the keyboard (this allows the user to shift+click on additional parts to delete at the same time).
These manual parts show up on the Parts List under the “Manual Parts” subheading.
