Job Completion Dashboard - JCD locked up
On very large Jobs, the Job Completion Dashboard sometimes locks up, seems to hang, or freezes.
The process will complete, but the Epicor application will need to be closed and the User will need to logon again to process in Epicor.
Summary:
The volume of transactions processed by the Job Completion dashboard may cause the Epicor client to freeze. Create smaller process sets. or, just let the process run. Even though the screen locks, the process completes.
Use the custom dashboard Job Completion – Schedule to process exceptionally large Jobs.
Detail:
The Job Completion Dashboard will backflush any remaining stock material issues for top-level assembly, record remaining production quantities on sub-assemblies, backflushing component material, record remaining production on top-level assembly, mark the job Complete. This is a great-to-have custom process.
Depending on the activity processing in Epicor at any given time, we will experience periods where processing is faster and some that’s slower. The Job Completion Dashboard is a custom process which performance is impacted by overall system performance and the number of transactions being processed.
However, we have some issues with very large jobs. The processing completes, but the screen gets locked on large Jobs, for example with 500 or so labor records. It has improved greatly, but we are going to have to accept a level of trade-off.
Solution:
Use the custom dashboard Job Completion – Schedule to process exceptionally large Jobs.
