Pull-Out Shelving

Pull-Out Shelving

There are currently two options for TFL shelves that pull-out: A “regular” pull-out shelf with glides on the side, and a concealed version that helps hide the glides.
Users can find more information on pull out shelving in the SPG.

Either option is found in the Pull-Outs drop down in the Ribbon Toolbar and are added to components like other parts. See below for more information on adding each shelf.

After either shelf has been inserted, they can be moved in one of three ways: By using the + and icons, by right clicking and selecting Move, or by double clicking, holding, and “dragging” it into place.

Delete a shelf by right clicking and selecting Delete. Single parts or multiples can be deleted by clicking on them while holding Shift on the keyboard. Selected parts will outlined in red, and either right click to delete or hit the Delete key on the keyboard. To deselect, hit Esc on the keyboard or click elsewhere on the design.

Note that these GIFS show an adjustable shelf, not a pull-out shelf. Functionality remains the same.

PULL-OUT SHELF

Pull-out shelving with visible, partition-mounted runners are made from the same material as our shelves and partitions. They are available in 14” and 20” component depths and can be made in standard or custom widths (up to 36”).

Select Pull-Out Shelf from the drop down menu and hover over a component, positioning the shelf by moving the curser up and down within the component. Before clicking, users can also scroll the mouse wheel or use the up/down keyboard keys to create a multi-shelf group. Left click to place the shelf.

Continue to add as many shelves as desired, right-clicking to turn the function off. Pull-out shelves move, delete and can be edited the same way as other shelves.

The pull-out shelves have little glides on them in the elevation view. They can also slide in and out when in the 3D and/or WebGL view.

TIP: In 3D, hover over until you see the little hand and click, hold, and move the cursor back and forth. In WebGL, simply click once to open or close.

The pull-out shelf properties are similar to other shelves. Right click to access, this is where users can make changes such as style (to switch to other types of shelves), finish, depth, add leather, etc. Lighting is not supported on pull-out shelving.

Users can also add shoe fences or lips to the pull-out shelf from the Shoe Rack drop down.

These will not be slanted, of course, but will provide additional security for keeping items in place, or may contribute to the aesthetic of the design.

Changes made to a single shelf can be added to other pull-out shelves using the Apply properties to.. options at the bottom of the properties window.

CONCEALED PULL-OUT SHELF

Concealed pull-out shelving has shelf-mounted runners that use a face on the shelf to keep the hardware hidden. They are available in 14” to 26” component depths and can accommodate widths between 14” and 36”. They can accommodate half or full overlays as well as inset options, and hardware is optional as they can be soft-close or push-to-open.

Select Concealed Pull-Out Shelf from the drop down menu and hover over a component, positioning the shelf by moving the curser up and down within the component.

Continue to add as many shelves as desired, right-clicking to turn the function off. Concealed pull-out shelves move, delete and can be edited the same way as other shelves.

The concealed pull-out shelves look like small drawers without hardware (optional, but not needed) in the elevation view. There is a top shelf, which is the surface of the actual pull-out shelf, and a bottom shelf, which is required and helps keep the hardware hidden.

The shelves can also slide in and out when in the 3D and/or WebGL view.

TIP: In 3D, hover over until you see the little hand and click, hold, and move the cursor back and forth. In WebGL, simply click once to open or close.

The concealed pull-out shelf properties are somewhat similar to other shelves. Right click to access, this is where users can make changes such as style (to switch to other types of shelves), finish, depth, add leather, etc.

Users can adjust the Slide type as well, as soft close and push-to-open options are available.

Users can also add shoe fences or lips to the pull-out shelf from the Shoe Rack drop down. These will not be slanted, of course, but will provide additional security for keeping items in place, or may contribute to the aesthetic of the design.

Since these pull-outs have a face, users can adjust the front type, style, etc. much like a drawer. The Lip Height can also be adjusted so long as it stays within the face height requirements (2.5” up to 5.25”). These are in millimeters, but users will receive a warning if the max size is exceeded (max lip size is 65mm).

Changes made to a single shelf can be added to other pull-out shelves using the Apply properties to.. options at the bottom of the properties window.
