Component View Mode

The Component View mode is a feature that enables edits to a component, but won’t allow the user to select or edit parts. This makes it easier to move, delete, center and manipulate a component without parts getting in the way. It is helpful with components that have multi-shelf groups or doors, as well base cabinets.

Turn this feature on by selecting the Component option under View Mode in the Tools section of the ELV toolbar. While adding parts and editing a design, the user is in the standard view mode.

If you are in component view mode, you will not have to right click and go through the Component submenu as it goes directly to the component edit options.

When Component View Mode is enabled, it allows access a few other helpful features such as deleting or changing widths for multiple components at once. With Component View enabled, left click to select more than one component. These components will show as Selected with a gray X.

To delete selected components, right click and select Delete. This will save users from having to delete each component one-by-one or from having to delete entire designs.

Users can also AutoFit Width multiple selected components. The components shown in these examples are 24” wide and 30” wide to start.

AutoFit Width divides the available gap or combined component width (if no gap) equally between the selected components so that they will all be the same width. This method will fill any gap next to the selected components.

This feature is almost like using the Array tool after components are in place.

To turn Component View Mode off, pull down and select Standard, which allows users to edit parts again. The user can also add a new part from the Parts menu and it will automatically revert to Standard View.
