Long Supported Shelf
The Long Supported Shelf allows users to design shelves with an uninterrupted span, which reduces the visual clutter and provides a clean elegant solution.
These may be commonly used in media centers, bars, wall units and many other spaces.
The long supported shelf is meant to be placed within a component or between components. They are always fixed and cannot be moved.
The long supported shelves require a top cap and bottom cap or countertop for the support panels to fit between. If these are not in the design, there will be a warning.
Select the Long Supported Shelf option from the Shelf & Pole part drop down. Left click to place in the design.
Once placed, the shelves move, delete and adjust like other shelves.
Generally, the maximum length of the panels are 60” but this may vary slightly by location . Users will see an error is placing the shelf in an area that is too wide.
The minimum spacing for the shelving is 6”. If over a maximum height or width, users will get a error on the panel itself.
These shelves require Press-In Panels above and below for support, hence the name “long supported shelf”. These panels are automatically included when placing shelves in CAD.
A Plant On Panel could be added if wanting to add a more decorative panel, such as a mirror, to the supplied structural panel.
The long supported shelves are available in glass, TFL board material, or leather. Users can select Style and Finish (which directly coordinates with the selected style) in Part Properties.
This is where the shelf Depth can be adjusted if needed. This defaults to the usable depth, which excludes the thickness of the top panel (and plant on panel, if present). There is a maximum depth of 16” and users will see an error if trying to adjust it to an unsupported depth.
