Installation Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

Box-in-Box

  1. Ensure all fixed shelves are installed.

  2. Locate and inspect all pieces.

  • You should have a top piece, bottom piece, and 2 side pieces.

  • Prior to beginning the process, confirm on the elevation if the interior box is to be flush with the exterior pieces or recessed.

  1. Assemble the top, bottom and side pieces by placing the dowels into the pre-drilled holes.

If Applicable: Add Backing to the box-in-box at this time.

  1. Slide the interior box between fixed shelves and ensure it is flush or recessed according to the elevation.

  2. Place 2 nails in the top and bottom pieces to secure the box in place.

  3. Touch up nail holes with crayon.

Cubbies | Wine X

  1. Ensure all fixed shelves surrounding the Wine X shelving are in place.

  2. Locate and inspect pieces.

  • There should be at least 2 pieces; they should both have a 3/4” cutout in the middle that extends just over halfway across the board.

  • At least 1 piece should be edgebanded on the side with the cutout.

  • At least 1 piece should be edgebanded on the side that does not have the cutout.

  • Pieces will vary depending on the design.

  • If either piece was not manufactured accordingly, call the shop/warehouse as soon as possible for a replacement.

  1. Slide both pieces together.

  • Stand up the piece with edgebanding on the cutout side.

  • Slide the piece with edgebanding on the non-cutout slide into the cutout.

  • Together, the pieces should form an X or +

  1. Ensure the banding on both pieces is flush.

  • If the banding is not flush, a deeper cut will need to be made on the cutout using a table saw.

  1. Slide the unit between the two fixed shelves in the component.

Pull-Out Shelves

  1. Separate and dry-fit runners.

  1. Mount the shelf piece to the shelf and the partition piece to the pre-drilled holes on the partition.

  2. Slide the runners together to lock them in place.

  3. Test the functionality of the shelf by sliding it in and out several times.

Slanted Shoe Shelves

  1. Locate and inspect all pieces.

  2. Install the shoe fence on the shelf piece.

  1. Ensure partitions are prepped with Rafix shelf pins in the correct locations according to the system elevation.

  1. Check the cams and ensure they are positioned in the shelf correctly and in the open position.

  1. Set the shelf on the Rafix pins and ensure the cams are sitting on each screw.

  2. Tighten each cam clockwise until they stop turning using a Pozi #2 bit screwdriver.

  1. Check the shelf for tightness.

  1. Repeat for all remaining shelves, as indicated by an X on the elevation.

Vertical Dividers

  1. Locate and inspect all parts.

  1. Place and glue dowels in both ends of the vertical upright.

If Applicable: Trim the length of the dowel(s) to ensure a tight fit between the pieces.

  1. Secure the bottom fixed shelf between the partitions, ensuring the pre-drilled holes are facing upwards.

  2. Place the vertical upright dowels into the pre-drilled holes on the bottom fixed shelf.

  3. Install the top fixed shelf.
