  1. Ensure you have all parts and pieces:

    1. Top press-in-backing piece.

    2. Bottom press-in-backing piece.

    3. Long supported shelf.

    4. Hidden support cleat.

If you are installing multiple long support shelves, start with the lowest and work bottom to top.

  1. Ensure all rafix pins are in place for the press-in-backing and snap cams are in place on the backing pieces. This should be done will prepping the partition.

  2. Install the bottom backing piece and the hidden support cleat together.

  • Screw the hidden cleats to the bottom piece of backing with at least 2 inches of cleat showing above the backing.

  • This is to provide support for both backing pieces and to create a slotted support for the shelf piece.

  1. Install the bottom piece of press-in-backing and ensure it is secure with the cleat on the top side of the backing. The cleat should be pressed against the wall.

  1. Attach the cleat to the wall.

  • Locate studs behind the cleat and attach it to the wall by driving 3” screws through the cleat into the studs.

  • Ensure the screws are in a location high enough that the top piece of backing will cover them.

  1. Ensure the appropriate shelf pins (refer to adjustable shelf and adjustable glass shelf process instructions) are in the partitions and set the shelf on top. Push the shelf back until it is pressed against the cleat.

  1. Install the top piece of backing and press into place. It should be tight to the shelf.

  1. Repeat the process as needed for additional shelves.
