Installation Steps

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when handling material and operating the power tools mentioned throughout this process. Review the PPE Matrix for further guidance.

  1. Locate all parts based on the elevations and BOM. Ensure you have tracks, boards and trim.

  • Trim may be aluminum and silver or white in color, or plastic and black or white in color.

  1. Understand where on the wall the system will go.

  • Use the elevation indicators and measurements as a guide.

  • Locate studs and make marks for track securement points.

  1. Using a 3/16” bit, pre-drill holes in the track pieces in alignment with stud locations.

  • Ensure you capture all metal chips from drilling in a trash bin. Do not allow these shavings to fall to the floor.

  1. Using the self-tapping screws, attach the first piece of the track to the wall and ensure it is level.

  • Start with the bottom piece.

  • If there are no studs within 3” of the end of the track piece, you will need to use a toggle and bolt at the end of the track.

  • All securement points should be no more than 16” apart.

If the design indicates a piece of ¼” board at the bottom below the bottom track, the “J” channel must be mounted at the bottom below the ¼” board. The bottom track’s groove is to then be placed along the top of the ¼” board. Continue the process from Step 4 onward.

  1. Insert the board material.

  • Ensure it is fitting firmly in the track.

If you are having a hard time inserting the board, loosen the screws until it fits into the track and retighten the screws.

  1. Repeat step 4 by placing the next track piece on top of the already installed piece. There is a groove in the track for them to fit together.

  2. Repeat Step 5 and continue until all track and board pieces are secure on the wall.

  3. Install end caps or trim pieces using mounting tape.
